And when the struggles and the pain become too much to bear, it’s natural to want to keep pushing through and/or to retreat from the people who care about you.
It’s important to realize, however, that you don’t have to go through it alone, whatever “it” is. In my psychology practice, I specialize in helping people get through the tough times in their lives, with courage and grace.
When the stress that comes from dealing with health issues, death and dying, caregiving and receiving, or loss and change becomes too much, counseling can be very beneficial. In therapy sessions, the focus is on you, and only you, which can help keep you centered and strong.
Research has shown that the therapy process is most effective not because of the approach itself, but because of the relationship between the therapist and the client. The connection between us creates a safe environment in which you can resolve your problems.
